I expected more of this

Joe Hill’s short story collection ‘Full Throttle’ has disappointed me somehow and the weird thing, I can’t put my finger on the reason why… it has some really great stories (Throttle, Twittering from the Circus of the Dead, In the Tall Grass) but somehow a lot of the stories had me thinking ‘I’m used to better’ by Joe… This is the man that gave us Heartshaped Box, NOS4R2 and Locke&Key!
And the weirdest thing is that some of the stories that I just couldn’t connect with now (is it pacing? Something else?) I had already read in another form and then I liked them apparently (when I see the rating I gave them on Goodreads)… I guess I changed as well? Not sure…
Oh well, it’ll be me… and no matter what I may think of this book, I will keep reading his stories, comics and I’m actually waiting until he publishes something new… Hopefully soon?
