Didn't feel connected to the story
I read Not in Love for my book club, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations. I struggled to get into it and never really felt connected to the story.
The plotline about the patents honestly didn’t grab me, and there were quite a few complex terms and topics that made it feel a bit heavy, something I haven’t experienced with Ali’s other books.
I also didn’t really feel the romance between Eli and Rue at all.
What I did enjoy were the different POVs, and thankfully the ending felt much stronger. The characters themselves also kept me engaged and made the book more enjoyable.
But overall, this one just wasn’t for me.
