Funny maar niet helemaal

I loved Beach Read but Funny Story for me was.... okay. The banter is nice, i did laugh a few times and of course disliked Petra and Peter (seriously, their names though).
But, in my honest opinion, too much happend. Miles had issues with his parents, Daphne has issues with her father. Insert a divorced soon to be best friend, runaway sister, trust issues, regret, reinventing ones self, job hunting, joining all kinds of towns activities, a father with a weed smoking habbit and an exentric new wife and then there was the "nobody loves me or puts me first" thing Daphne kept saying. For a character that's in her thirties this felt very insecure and almost juvenile.
Funny Story was an okay read, at times it was funny and other times a bit predictable. The character development didn't actually happen untill the end when both main characters acknowledge their feelings to themselves and to eachother.
