Digging in the person behind the Discworld series
I categorised this boek as a biography but it really is not. This collection of short stories (which it also is not) consists of texts that Terry Pratchett wrote during his life for some special occasions. Like book signings, tours, Alzheimer, ...
In these stories he reflects on writing, the Discworld (not so much), publishers in UK and US, fans, congresses, ...
This makes the first part of the book rather pleasant to read since it contains refrences to familiar things like the Discworld series and shows Terry's particular grasp of humour. Gradually the tone gets more serious when he start reflecting on his deadly disease and the way that is (not) treated in the UK, how to come to terms with it and finally death (and also the more familiar and much more funny DEATH of the discworld.)
A must read for the fans, too expensive otherwise.
Not a book that makes you happy but it helps understand...
