Hooked from the start

This book had me invested and hooked from the very beginning.
When Wren helps a little boy by making a remarkable shot that kills a wolf, she has shown herself to the wrong people. Command comes to the ranch she lives at. Wren is out fixing fences but they find her uncle there, who is a deserter and gets arrested. Both Wren and her uncle are Mods, Modified means they possess the power to read, and maybe even influence, minds. They are hunted. Normal mods show silver veins when they use their power. Wren however does not.
After the failed attempt to save her uncle from execution Wren gets arrested as well and she is in danger to be discovered as a very powerful mod. She is forced to join Command, to train and bekomen a member of Silver Block and to hunt her own. And yes, the leader of this Block is of course a very hot guy.

I couldn't put this book down. It has everything I enjoy; fearless heroin, army academia, a little smud and a gantasy world that is easily understandable and intriguing. No pages long explanation of things with unpronouncable names etc.
Put this on your TBR if you liked Fourth Wing, you will not be dissapointed.
Certainly one of my favorites this year.
