chickflick stuff

Had ik maar vooraf geweten dat dit een chickflick boekje is. Wat een voorspelbaar plot, en wat een voorspelbare personages.
Alle mannen zijn slecht, alle dames zijn slachtoffers.
En waarom moet dit noodgedwongen in Botswana? De kenmerken, troeven, bevolking, cultuur, etc. komt amper aan bod, dat ‘resort’ kon ook in Zuid-Engeland liggen of zo.
Zo’n gemiste kans, al blijven de stuk voor stuk vlakke personages het grootste probleem in dit boek.

If only I had known beforehand that this is a chickflick book.
Such a predictable plot, and such predictable characters.
All men are bad, all ladies are victims.
And why does this need to take place in Botswana? The characteristics, assets, population, culture,
of the country etc. are hardly discussed or integrated in the story, this 'resort' could just as well be located in Southern England or anywhere else for that matter.
Such a missed opportunity, although the flat characters remain the biggest problem in this book.
