I fell in love

‘How the grown-up witch fell in love with Draco Malfoy after all.’

I normally don't read autobiographies. So it has to be someone special before I want to read it.

Draco Malfoy is one of the underrated characters of the HP series if you ask me. But there’s so much in his character.

When Tom Felton announced his book, I knew I wanted to read it.

And I’m so so so glad I did. Because, I fell in love with Tom. With his humour and his honesty.

This book starts with a foreword by Emma Watson.

This immediately shows the strong bond between Tom and Emma. Something Tom tells us more about in his story.

Tom describes his youth, how he ended up with auditions for series and movies, tells us more about his lovely family and his three older brothers who always make sure he stayed grounded.

Of course he also tells us about all the years as a kid, and finally a young adult, he acted in the HP movies.
The wizarding family he got and what those people meant for him.

But, ‘All good things come to an end’.

Tom takes us with him to his life after HP. To his muggle life. And nope, that’s not always fun and laughter. Or perfect.

The last part of his book is all about how he lost himself, his struggles, but also how he found himself and his place in the world again.

His honesty is what touched my heart and soul.

He writes with a lot of humour and lightness. But he’s not ashamed to tell us the other side of his life. And he does this with seriousness.

‘I am not alone in having these feelings. Just as we all experience physical ill-health at some stage in our lives, so we all experience mental ill-health too. There’s no shame in that. It’s not a sign of weakness.’

He is a pure individual if you ask me.
