What an amazing start to this new series!

‘Iron & Embers’ is the first book in the spin-off series The Ashes of Thezmarr, set five years after the events of The Legends of Thezmarr. Personally, I’d recommend reading that series first – it really helps you feel the full impact of everything that’s happened. Plus, we get to see some familiar faces again, which I absolutely loved!

In this book, we follow Wren and Torj, and I was so excited to dive into their story! Wren is such an incredible protagonist – she’s been through so much, but her humor makes her so lovable. Watching her character develop throughout the book was just amazing.

Helen Scheuerer’s writing is stunning; she has a way of creating a rich history and bringing both the setting and characters to life with so much detail.

And the romance… what a perfect slow burn! The enemies to lovers dynamic added just the right amount of tension, and I loved every second of it.

On top of that, the plot is well thought out, with just the right level of complexity to keep things interesting.

This book was everything I hoped for. The growing threat has me so excited for the next one—I can’t wait to see where this story goes next!
