Book 3 in the series is taking the fight to another level.
Dante gets another set of Cards, that means another soul to save. But he has other things on his mind. His mother isn't doing well, and it is a major set-back. He is worried, and hopes he can help her again. But this time is different.
With his mind occupied, Dante makes a mistake that sets things in motion, one of them is a visit to a dark place. He gets some help, but it comes at a price. Dante has to deal with a lot in this book.
I think he is growing up quickly, with everything that is happening to him. This is no longer a game, or a puzzle that just needs to be solved. This time, sacrifices have to be made.
