Still love it
For me, this read was a reread and so I can't really do a great reveiw of this book because of the fact I have read it before and have also watched the movies. I haven't read all of the books so I'm hoping they will surprise me more than this one did.
I do feel like, I can now see the books are really not meant for my age (9 - 12 years old, esplains a lot) and also, there is no element of surprise or tension when you know what is going to happen. I do however still love this book and had a great time reading it, especially since this is the anniversary edition with lots of information about my own house, the hufflepuffs. I will never ever get rid of this edition of the book and I am so looking forward to have all the hufflepuff editions of the series. I do however want the other houses as well because I am very curious about the other houses.
Some lines from the book:;
Hagrid: :Professor Dumbledore, sir" ---- He is so humble and respectful, also, I love his accent!!
Peeves: "Naughty, Naughty, you'll get caughty"
Dumbledore: "What happened down in the dungeons is a complete secret, so naturally, the whole school knows about it"
Dumbledore: "To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure"
I love how rereads give you the opportunity to see more of the details. I should reread more books. For example, only now I notice that Newt is metioned early on in this first book, I never noticed that before, oops. And I also love all the quotes that are used. I also now notice how many different things happen in only one book and that I now understand why I always get confused as to what takes place in what time frame, it's just a lot ot remeber but it keeps the book fun to read and it gives you some new details every time. This time I found it mostly funny to read.
It also stands out how much Snape is pushed forward as the bad guy, even though he isn't. When you have read the books before or have seen the movies, you know that it's not what it looks like which at some point just made me be like "damn come on man, it's really obvious that's not what's going on", only to then realize that it's not that obvious if you're new to the Harry Potter world.
Cool shop to remeber: Flourish and Blotts (Bookshop)
All the chracters are well established and everything is just exactly right and in place. De movies help in that aspect, but I do think every character has been thought about very thoroughly and I really love that.
I expect the books to become better and better so I am giving 4,5 stars this time to leave room for improvement :P
