Didn't work for me!

Okay I really wanted to love this book, since I was absolutely in love with First Time Caller, but unfortunately, it just didn’t quite work for me.

I noticed that I didn’t really feel excited to keep reading each day. About halfway through, I seriously considered DNF’ing it. Still, I kept going, mainly because I was curious about how it would end.

I can’t even pinpoint exactly what it was, but I just didn’t feel it. The characters didn’t grab me, the story didn’t fully land, and more than once I found myself thinking: what am I actually reading?

For me, the story felt pretty vague, with lots of inconsistencies and plot holes, and it really lacked context. And seriously: why was the MMC so obsessed with pajamas?

Sometimes I can overlook inconsistencies if the characters and their relationship really draw me in, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case here. I kept reading in hopes of answers and clarity, but we barely got any. That was disappointing.

One positive note: the antique shop! I really loved that setting and genuinely enjoyed the scenes that took place there.

I can definitely see this book working really well for some readers, but sadly, it just wasn’t for me.
